Website Launch—Interstate Building Materials
A rapidly growing company, Interstate Building Materials was established in September of 2014 with seven employees and initially only sold to contractors. Within three months, Interstate grew to fifteen employees and opened the doors to the public and DIY market.
Designed to Inform
The visual design of the site is photo-driven, so that visitors may quickly get a sense of what Interstate has to offer. With rich imagery showing the staff in action, to customer projects and product shots, this site shows and tells. It was important for us to also note the two primary audiences: Professional Contractors and Do-It-Yourselfers/Homeowners, this drove the homepage design with color-coded panels that lead to project and product ideas.
Built to be Search Engine Friendly
A web site is only useful if people see it, so this site has been built using smart ‘Semantic Markup’ and good content strategy to ensure that search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and Bing can place it high within search results.
Mobile-Friendly and Responsive
With around half of all website traffic coming from mobile devices, it’s important to have a site that can perform well on them. Interstate’s new site is designed to look as gorgeous on a phone or tablet as it does on a laptop or desktop. On some websites, the mobile experience is an after-thought, if there at all. With this site, we planned for an excellent mobile experience from the beginning.
